Conventions of OTS


The evaluation questions that this post relates to are:
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? (This is the evaluation question you will need to answer on conventions)
Who would be the audience for your media product? (your audience is dependent on the conventions you wish to portray)
How did you attract/address your audience? (you'd attract them through the conventions you chose to use - so discuss this)

Task: Summarise, using ICT (see web tools shown in the right hand column of this blog for examples), the conventions of an OTS.

-  Details of cast and crew.
-  The film's title.
-  An introduction to character or character type.
-  Indication of place.
-  Indication of historical period.
-  Information regarding mood and tone.
Introduction to signature theme tune.
-  Information about genre.
-  Questions that the viewer finds intriguing.
-  Patterns and types of editing that will be echoed in the remainder of the film.
-  Mise en scene and cinematography that will be echoed or elaborated upon later in the film
